Pearlizer

A pearlizer (or pearlizing agent) is an ingredient that gives cosmetic products a pearly, shimmering, creamy appearance.

It creates a pearl-white or opalescent look in shampoos, body washes, liquid soaps.

Most pearlizers are esters of fatty acids that crystallize in the formula and scatter light, creating the pearly effect.

INCI: Glycol Distearate

How to Use Pearlizer

Usage Amount

• 1–5% for a soft pearl effect
• 5–10% for strong pearl shine
• Add to cool-down phase
• Mix well until fully uniform
• Best pH Range
• pH 5–7 (ideal for shampoos & body washes)

Works best with surfactant systems containing SLES, CAPB, Coco-glucoside, AOS, etc.

Helps thicken the formula slightly.

Too much can make the formula look too opaque or too thick.
