A very mild, plant-derived non-ionic surfactant commonly used in natural, sulfate-free cleansing products for skin and hair.

• Usually blended with other surfactants for best performance.

Typical usage rates

• Facial cleanser: 3–8%
• Body wash: 5–12%
• Shampoo: 5–15%
• Baby products: 2–5%

Formulation notes
pH range: ~5.0–7.5 (skin & scalp friendly)

Thickening:

• Harder to thicken alone
• Thickens better when combined with:
• Cocamidopropyl betaine
• Sodium cocoyl isotheonate
