Cocamide DEA ( CDE)

A classic ingredient used in many cleansing and foaming formulations

Derived from coconut fatty acids and diethanolamine — it’s a nonionic surfactant and foam booster.

💧 Functions in Formulations

• Foam booster: Enhances and stabilizes foam in shampoos and body washes.
• Viscosity builder: Thickens surfactant systems containing SLES or SLS and SCI.
• Emulsifier / Stabilizer: Helps keep oils dispersed in aqueous systems.
• Conditioning agent: Adds a soft after-feel in cleansing products.

• Appearance: light yellow to light brown viscous liquid
• Usage rate: 1–10% (commonly 2–5%)
• pH range: 5.5–7.5

• Compatibility: Works well with anionic (SLES/SLS), amphoteric (Cocamidopropyl Betaine), and nonionic surfactants
