Function:

A mixture of proteolytic (protein‐breaking) enzymes that hydrolyse peptide bonds in proteins.

Cosmetic use:

Acts as an enzymatic exfoliant: it helps break down dead skin-cell proteins and surface debris, promoting smoother texture and renewal of the skin surface.

Additional claimed benefits:

Smoother skin texture, brighter appearance, gentle exfoliation without mechanical abrasion, possible anti‐inflammatory support in problematic or damaged skin.

Usage Rate and Formulation Guide

Usage rate of 1 % to 5 % for certain formulations (especially rinse-off or specialty treatments).

More conservative usage for leave-on exfoliating products: about 0.5 % to 5.0 %.

Recommended approach: For standard leave-on/exfoliating skincare products (serums, masks) targeting around 1 % to 3% is reasonable, provided enzyme stability and compatibility are confirmed.

For rinse-off treatments (peels, masks) you may go toward higher end (5-10%) but must consider risk of irritation, skin barrier effects.

Sensitive skin / low‐strength: you might choose 0.5-1% and limit frequency.

Ensure the enzyme’s pH compatibility, since enzymatic activity depends on pH
