Lotion Pro

Lotion Pro 165 is a non-ionic self-emulsifying wax/emulsifier blend (i.e., it doesn’t carry a strong net charge) designed for forming oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions.

• INCI name: Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate
• Appearance: White to off-white flakes or pellets

Applications

• In skin care: For lotions, creams, and body milks where you want a light, smooth, and stable emulsion with a pleasant skin feel.
• In body butters / rich creams: Ideal for creating buttery textures when combined with fatty alcohols or other thickeners.

Typical formulation & use levels

• Usage rate: 1–5% for O/W creams and lotions.
• Add to the oil phase, heat to melt the flakes/pellets, then combine with the heated water phase, and cool under stirring — a standard emulsification process.
• This emulsifier does not contribute significant thickening or viscosity compared to some wax-based emulsifiers, and is therefore often paired with fatty alcohols (e.g., cetyl or cetearyl alcohol) or other thickeners to achieve richer textures.
